    Job Description

    The forklift operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform various warehouse tasks as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move materials around the warehouse or facility.

    Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles using forklifts or other handling equipment.

    Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using the forklift.

    Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

    Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance tasks, such as refueling or recharging the forklift.

    Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

    Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the forklift and surrounding areas.

    Assist in other warehouse tasks, such as picking, packing, and shipping orders, as needed.

    Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.

    Comply with company policies and regulations, including health and safety standards.

    Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Valid forklift operator certification/license.

    Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or similar environment.

    Strong understanding of warehouse operations and procedures.

    Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in various weather and environmental conditions.

    Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

    Attention to detail and accuracy in handling merchandise.

    Physical strength and stamina to lift and move heavy objects.

    Basic math skills for counting and inventory purposes.

    Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with operating other warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or order pickers.

    Familiarity with inventory management systems and software.

    Additional certifications in warehouse or material handling.

    Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures specific to forklift operation.
